Pray With Faith
Prayer is an essential part of being a Christian. Some find it hard to come up with the words and others yet overflow with the words that they speak in prayer. Below you will see in Romans it tells us that the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us and actually prays to God for us. The Spirit knows what we need and knows how God wants to be prayed to. All of this according to the will of God. The Spirit will speak to God in groanings that we would not understand, but God does. So the important thing is to have faith and pray. If the spirit of God is in you He will hear your prayers. With this I am referring to believing in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. That He is the living Son of the one true living God. That God came to us in the form of a man, Jesus Christ, and died on the cross for our sins, actually becoming sin itself, while we where yet sinners and rose on the third day victorious over death. So that we, that trust in Him, shall never feel the sting of death but have everlasting, eternal life. We all get busy with our daily duties but put God first, seeking the Kingdom of God first in prayer and He will never leave our side. Each and everyday wake up with a joyful song of praise in your thoughts and go to the Lord in prayer. Our outlook on life is so much better when we put God first.
Romans 8:26-28
26: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27: And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Jude 1:17-25
17: But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18: How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19: These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
20: But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21: Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22: And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
24: Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25: To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Matthew 6:30-34
30: Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31: Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32: (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34: Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

9: Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
Colossians 3:12-15
12: Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13: Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14: And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15: And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Ephesians 2:4-8
4: But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5: Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6: And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Christian Dalits ("Untouchables") in India
Will the Dalits be Free at Last?
------------------------------------------------------
May 24, 2007
------------------------------------------------------
Dear Reader,
I want to share some good news with you about the Indian Supreme Court
case concerning the denial of affirmative action benefits to thousands
of Christian Dalits ("Untouchables") in India. If a recent committee
report is followed, the Dalits may find legal freedom at last.
On May 15, the National Commission for Religious & Linguistic
Minorities presented its long-awaited report to the government. The report
suggests that the law denying these benefits to Dalit Christians and
Muslims should be changed.
If the government chooses to follow the Commission's recommendations,
thousands of Dalit Christians will receive the same civil rights as
their counterparts who choose to remain in the country's majority Hindu,
Buddhist and Sikh faiths. Read more about this developing case here:

Yours for the unreached,

LAOS Seven Families Expelled From Their Homes - VOM Sources On May 15, government authorities expelled seven of 10 Christian families from their village in Laos, and transported them to another village 12 hours away. According to The Voice of the Martyrs' contacts, the authorities told the families, "If you want to continue believing in Jesus' religion, you need to leave this village and go live in a village where there are Christians." The husbands were forced into vehicles while the wives were working in the rice paddies and this has resulted in chaos. The families are separated and are having difficulties adjusting at the new village because their tools, utensils and belongings are at the old village. Pray God gives the families grace and protection as they deal with these hardships. Psalm 91:14-16 INDIA Attack on Priest and Nun, Services Disrupted, Christians Beaten - VOM Sources
EGYPT Christians Attacked - VOM Sources On May 11, a mob of Muslims attacked Christians in Bahma village south of Cairo after hearing rumors that a church was to be built in the village without government permission. Muslims left their Friday prayers and attacked the homes and shops of Christians, setting the buildings on fire. At least 10 Coptic Christians were injured in the attack. People from both faiths took up sticks and hatchets and began hurling bricks and firebombs at each other. At least 27 houses and shops were damaged by fire. At last report, 59 Muslims have been arrested on charges of arson and spreading sectarian strife. Pray these Christians will be encouraged to worship together, despite opposition. Pray they will demonstrate love to their neighbors. 1 Corinthians 13 www.persecution.com |

Prayer Letter – May 22, 2007
JNN NEWS, P.O. Box 7411, Jerusalem 91073, Israel
"Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God." Ruth 1:16
SHAVU'OT GREETINGS: Vision for Israel & The Joseph Storehouse staff members wish all of our readers a blessed and happy Shavu'ot. The holiday, known also as the Festival of Weeks, commemorates the time when the first fruits were harvested and brought to the Temple . It also celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mt. Sinai . A well known event occurred in New Testament times on this Jewish holiday. The Holy Spirit fell on the first disciples with tongues of fire and imparted many languages. The Book of Ruth is traditionally read during Shavu'ot, which begins this year Tuesday, May 22nd. Editor's Bias Note: Happy Birthday to our son Ariel who is 18 years old today.
CHRISTIANS TO TRAIN IN ISRAEL ADVOCACY: US campuses are hotbeds of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel activity. In colleges across the US increasing numbers of Christian students are requesting a place beside their Jewish friends to "make the case for Israel ." Last week a program began at California State University , Bakersfield that will train Christian students to defend Israel in the face of campus attacks. It is the first step toward establishing college chapters of Christians United for Israel , on college campuses across the US . (J.Post) "There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Proverbs 18:24
A HUNDRED AND THIRTY QASSAMS SINCE TUESDAY: Police reports on Sunday, May 20th, disclosed at least 130 Qassam rockets were fired by Palestinian Authority terrorists at western Negev communities since Tuesday, May 15th. More than 400 rockets have been launched at Israeli communities since the supposed "ceasefire" with PA Gaza terrorists on November 26, 2006 . ( INN )
PERETZ DECLARES STATE OF EMERGENCY IN GAZA PERIPHERY : Following continued Qassam attacks on the town of Sderot , Amir Peretz, on May 20th, declared a state of emergency in the communities surrounding the Gaza Strip. The declaration transfers civilian authority power to the IDF's Home Front Command, which can shut down factories and workplaces, and order medical clinics as well as other facilities to remain open. Last summer, during the Second Lebanon War, Peretz declared a similar state of emergency in northern Israel following the Hezballah rocket attacks. (J.Post)
HAMAS TERRORISTS DIE IN IAF AIR STRIKES IN GAZA: Israel began a wave of air strikes against Hamas targets in Gaza on Wednesday, May 16th. IAF forces killed at least three suspected Hamas terrorists in pre-dawn air strikes in Gaza on Sunday as it built up pressure on Islamists terrorist groups to stop firing Qassam rockets into the Sderot area. At least 10 Palestinians have been reported killed in IAF strikes since Friday May 18th. (Haaretz) "They will dwell securely when I execute justice on all those around them who despise them." Ezekiel 28:26
PALESTINIAN ROCKETS IGNORED ABROAD: While Hamas has been raining Qassam rockets on the Israeli town of Sderot , world media coverage has been sparse. Only when Israel began to take military action; after months of exercising restraint in the face of near daily rocket attacks, did the situation receive Western media attention. One US television producer explained apologetically the Sderot story has been going on for years, few people have been seriously injured and photos of shock victims fail to sell. When the IDF began to retaliate, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict suddenly appeared again in the headlines. Making news a market place commodity yields lopsided, distorted coverage of aggression against Israel and its case for retaliation. (Ynet/IHC)
HAMAS BLAMES WORLD FOR GAZA VIOLENCE: Senior Hamas official, Musa Abu Marzouk, recently blamed Western nations, Muslims states, and Israel for ongoing violence and infighting in the Gaza Strip. He said if only the world would send direct aid to the PA, currently under joint Hamas-Fatah control, there would be no "tension" between the two groups. EU spokesman Javier Solana challenged Hamas' self-deception with a crisp reminder the US , United Nations and other global donors to the PA are ready to resume aid when the Hamas terrorist organization recognizes the Jewish nation and renounces violence. ( INN ) "Destructive forces are at work in the city; threats and lies never leave its streets." Psalm 55:11
MUSLIM RELIGIOUS BAN ON LEAVING ISRAEL: The Mufti of Jerusalem last week issued a religious ban forbidding Muslims to leave Israel . Arabs fear young people are increasingly seeking their fortunes abroad. The decree says in part: "Muslims must remain in their places of residence, and not leave them to infiltrators and conquerors." Hamas-affiliated religious leaders issued a similar decree days ago forbidding emigration from the lands of the Palestinian Authority. ( INN )
HOLOCAUST DENIER IRVNG EXPELLED FROM WARSAW BOOK FAIR: British historian David Irving, a convicted Holocaust denier, appeared suddenly at the international book fare in Warsaw and set up his table before fair organizers realized the nature of his materials. When his identity came to light, Irving was asked to leave; received help from the event's employees to pack up his things, then was escorted out of the building and given a free ride to his address. Irving spent more than a year in an Austrian prison for denying the Nazis organized mass murder of six million Jews during World War Two. (Reuters) "Deliver me from the hands of foreigners whose mouths are full of lies." Psalm 144:11
ARTIFACTS FROM TIME OF DAVID AND SOLOMON REVEALED: Archaeologists, in honor of last week's Jerusalem Day, displayed more than 100 seals and signet rings used to authenticate papyrus documents during the days of Kings David and Solomon. They were viewed by the public for the first time. The Bible-period artifacts were discovered during archaeological excavations underway below Jerusalem 's Old City . ( INN ) "Through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures." Proverbs 24:4

Psalms Chapters 58 & 59
Psalms Chapter 58
1: Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?
2: Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.
3: The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.
4: Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;
5: Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.
6: Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.
7: Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.
8: As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.
9: Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.
10: The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
11: So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.
Psalms Chapter 59
1: Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.
2: Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
3: For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.
4: They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.
5: Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.
6: They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
7: Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?
8: But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
9: Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.
10: The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.
11: Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
12: For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.
13: Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.
14: And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
15: Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.
16: But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.
17: Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

CUBA UPDATE: Pastor Summoned to Court – VOM Sources Pastor Carlos Lamelas has been summoned to appear in court on Tuesday, May 15, 2007. Even though he does not know why, he thinks it is because he needs to be given his "innocent verdict" in person. At the same time, he feels this could be the Cuban communist government's ploy to send him back to prison. Pray God will intervene in this situation. Ask him to encourage Pastor Lamelas and his family. Pray Christians in Cuba remain steadfast in their faith in Jesus. Psalm 51:10, Isaiah 26:3-4 CHINA UPDATE: House Church Leader and Mother Still in Prison – China Aid Association Pastor Hua Huiqi and his elderly mother Shuang Shuying are still in prison. According to China Aid Association (CAA), Pastor Hua's trial will likely open in two weeks and his mother Shuang Shuying is being held in a medical center. "She is seriously sick and has been treated in that medical center since her sentencing. She is held in the kitchen hall in a one bedroom apartment-like prison cell with two other female prisoners. There are two PSB female police officers observing her 24/7. The doctor said she is too weak to be put in a formal prison because of her heart problem, diabetes and other medical problems," CAA said. Pray for healing for Shuang Shuying. Ask God to encourage Pastor Hua and his family as he prepares to go to trial. 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 PAKISTAN Muslim Radicals Introduce Anti-Christian Law; Christians Receive Threatening Letters – VOM Sources
INDIA UPDATE: Pastor Released After One Year in Prison – VOM Sources In Orissa state on May 2, 2007, Pastor Jeremiah Mahji was released after spending a year in prison. The Voice of the Martyrs contacts report that since Pastor Jeremiah's release, there have been repeated phone calls threatening that his son, Pastor Nehusena, will be killed. Thank God for the release of Pastor Jeremiah. Pray God protects their family and believers in India. Ask that their testimony will bring others into the knowledge of God. Romans 15:1-6 TURKMENISTAN Pastor Jailed in Labor Camp for Three Years – Forum 18 News On May 14, 2007, Baptist preacher Vyacheslav Kalataevsky was jailed for three years in a labor camp for illegally crossing the border in 2001, establishing a prayer house and organizing meetings for Christian Baptists. According to Forum 18 News, his family insists the sentence was imposed to punish him for his activity with the unregistered Baptist congregation in the city. Vyacheslav told the court today in his closing statement that officials have a hostile attitude to him because of his faith. "This is backed up by the fact that as soon as he was arrested in March, the questions were all about his religious activity, not about crossing the border," the family told Forum News. Pray for this pastor and his family. Pray his testimony will draw non-believers into the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Psalm 10:17, 2 Corinthians 7:4 www.persecution.com |
