I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

Psalms Chapter 73

Thanks and praise to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Psalms Chapter 73
1: Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
2: But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
3: For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4: For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
5: They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.
6: Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
7: Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
8: They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
9: They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
10: Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.
11: And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
12: Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.
13: Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
14: For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.
15: If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.
16: When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;
17: Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
18: Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.
19: How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
20: As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.
21: Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.
22: So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.
23: Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.
24: Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
25: Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
26: My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
27: For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.
28: But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

VOM-USA News & Prayer Update Visit: Persecution.com

Dear Michael Carey,

"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"(I John 5:4-5)
Prayers for November 20, 2007
From The Voice of the Martyrs
The Voice of the Martyrs Visit: Persecution.com
Pray for NORTH KOREA
NORTH KOREA Christians Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown - VOM Sources
In September, the National Security Service of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) announced the arrest of several "foreign spies" and "native citizens working for a foreign intelligence service." VOM sources say those arrested are Christians and not spies. VOM sources have identified the following nine Christians who have disappeared and are believed to have been arrested by government authorities: Mr. Chul Huh (34), Mr. Chun-Il Jang (39), Mr. Myung-Chul Kim (36), Ms. Young-Su Jin (32), Mr. Nam-Suk Kang (48), Mr. San-Ho Kang (36), Mr. Suk-Chun Suh (29), Ms. Mi-Hae Park (30) and Ms. Young-Yae Lee (37). The whereabouts of these individuals is unknown. It is possible they have already been tried and executed. Pray the loved ones of those arrested will find peace in the fact that God works all things for the good of those who love Him and who have been called according to His purpose. Pray that North Korea's leaders will come to repentance and faith in Christ. Romans 8:28, Psalm 91

Pray for EGYPT
EGYPT More Christians Jailed - Compass Direct News
Three Christian activists with the Toronto-based Middle East Christian Association have been jailed in Egypt. According to a Compass Direct News report, Wagih Yaob and Victor George were taken from their homes in the early hours of November 10, while lawyer Mamdouh Azmy was arrested at his law office later that afternoon. The police reportedly treated Yaob badly and confiscated both Yaob and George's personal belongings, including a laptop. After being interrogated at a state prosecutor's office in New Cairo, Yaob and George were given 15-day detentions and were accused of defaming Islam and destroying the reputation of Egypt. They are being held at Cairo's Tora prison. Later, Azmy was transferred to a Cairo prison. Pray for the release of these believers. Pray the Holy Spirit will encourage them and their families during this difficult time. Ask that their testimony will draw nonbelievers into fellowship with Christ. 2 Timothy 1:7, Psalm 23

Pray for INDIA
INDIA Christians Beaten by Militants - VOM Sources
On November 4, six Christians, including Pastor Vishnu Barad and his wife, were beaten by Hindu militants in the Thane district of Maharastra. The believers were reportedly targeted for attending prayer meetings in the area. Pastor Barad was detained when he went to the local police station to register a complaint against the militants. On November 10, a group of approximately 50 Hindu militants attacked Pastor P.C. Nayak of the Believers Church in the city of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. According to the Evangelical Fellowship of India, local villagers called Pastor Nayak to a meeting regarding the construction of a church building. When he arrived at the construction site the militants beat him. He was hospitalized with internal injuries. Pray that Pastor Barad will be released. Pray for healing for those injured in these attacks. Pray Christians in India will maintain the attitude of Christ and respond to their persecutors with love and grace. Isaiah 26:3, Joshua 1:9

Proverbs 2:1-22
1: My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
2: So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
3: Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
4: If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
5: Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
6: For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
7: He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
8: He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
9: Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
10: When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
11: Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
12: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
13: Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
14: Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
15: Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
16: To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
17: Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
18: For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
19: None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
20: That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
21: For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
22: But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Vision For Israel Update

Thanks and praise to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

JERUSALEM-ON-THE-LINE

Prayer Letter – November 22, 2007

JNN NEWS, P.O. Box 7411, Jerusalem 91073, Israel

"On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves." Zechariah 12:4

EREKAT: PALESTINIANS WILL NOT ACCEPT ISRAEL AS JEWISH STATE: Saeb Erekat, Chief Negotiator for the Palestinian Authority, last week rejected the government's demand that Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state. Erekat said "no state in the world connects its national identity to a religious identity." This is a lie as more than 55 countries comprising of the Organization of the Islamic Conference are entitled to recognition as Muslim states. Twenty two members of the Arab League are universally accepted as Arab states. Why is there a problem with recognizing Israel as the world's single Jewish state? (Haaretz)

PM'S PEACE PLAN PERILOUS FOR
ISRAEL: Dani Dayan, Chairman of the Council of Jewish Communities of Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip, days ago warned PM Olmert that a large-scale territorial withdrawal from Israel 's heartland as part of a peace deal with the Palestinians would involve more than 100,000 people and be like a tsunami. He said it could not be compared to the Gaza evacuation of 8,500 residents and warned that the aftermath of such a large withdrawal would break the backbone of Israeli society. He further warned Israel 's withdrawal from the West Bank would greatly endanger its security, including Ben Gurion International airport. "Olmert is leading Israel to disaster," declared Dayan. ( J.Post) "My anger burns against the shepherds, and I will punish the leaders; for the Lord Almighty will care for his flock." Zechariah 10:3

MOST ISRAELIS WANT OLMERT OUSTED AS PM:
A majority of Israelis (55%) believe that the Knesset should suspend or topple PM Ehud Olmert due to the criminal investigations against him, according to a recent poll. A majority (53%) agreed the main reason Olmert is seeking an agreement with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is because he is worried about his personal and political future, and not about Israel 's national interest. ( J.Post)

KNESSET FAVORS BILL REQUIRING 80 MKS TO DIVIDE J'LEM:
The Knesset passed, in a preliminary vote last week, a bill that would make it far more difficult to divide Jerusalem in the context of a peace agreement with the Palestinians. An absolute majority of 61 MKs is currently needed to change the basic law, and raising the bar to 80 MKs would make it nearly impossible to gain Knesset approval for concessions on Jerusalem . The bill warns the government it cannot divide the capital a few weeks before the Middle East peace conference in Annapolis , Maryland . (Haaretz) "On that day I will set about to destroy all nations that come against Jerusalem." Zechariah 12:9

CHABAD UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR MAMMOTH EMBEZZLEMENT: Police, days ago, arrested the Chabad Youth Organization's Chairman, its Chief Accountant, and several other people suspected of embezzling millions of shekels through tax evasion and laundering money for several businessmen. Police Commander Avi Mantzur, who is heading up the investigation, said enormous amounts of money are believed to have been pocketed by the suspects. (Haaretz) "The Lord enters into judgment against the elders of His people: 'It is you who have ruined my vineyard; the plunder from the poor is in your houses.'" Isaiah 3:14

AHMADINEJAD: CRITICS IN IRAN TRAITORS:
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recently labeled his critics at home "traitors" and accused them of collaborating with Iran's enemies. Ahmadinejad , who is facing growing domestic backlash over his hard-line policies which have led to UN Security Council sanctions , vowed to soon publicly expose those speaking against him. Iranian civilians , including university students , are increasingly being rounded up , imprisoned and even tortured for voicing opposition to Ahmadinejad's policies. (J.Post) "A cruel man brings trouble on himself." Proverbs 11:17

ANTI-SEMITIC INCIDENTS IN
HOLLAND UP BY 64%: Non-violent anti-semitic incidents in Holland have surged by 64% in the past 16 months. Most harassment reportedly occurred on Amsterdam streets and was confined to insults shouted at people wearing distinctly Jewish clothing. Attacks on Jews also took place via email , while others received hate mail through the regular post. (Haaretz)

VATICAN-ISRAELI TIES WORSENING: A senior Vatican diplomat has described Vatican-Israeli relations as worsening. Among the unresolved issues are the status of expropriated church property, services that Catholic groups perform for Israel 's Jewish and Arab population, and tax exemptions for the Church. An additional sore point is the granting of permits for Arab Christian clergy traveling to and around the West Bank . Israel has rescinded some travel privileges for those clergy because of security concerns. ( J.Post)

SECOND CENTURY
ROMAN ROAD & BATH FOUND NEAR TEMPLE SITE: Israeli archaeologists last week unearthed remains of a second century terraced street and bath house which provide clear indications of the layout of Roman Jerusalem. The alley was used by the Romans to link the central Cardo public road with a bath house and with a bridge to the Temple Mount . Archaeologists say the street is remarkably well preserved, and remains of the passageway will eventually form part of Jerusalem 's Western Wall tunnel tours for visitors. (Reuters) "He tunnels through the rock; his eyes see all its treasures." Job 28:10

Proverbs 1:1-33
1: The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
2: To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
3: To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
4: To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
5: A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
6: To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
7: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
8: My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
9: For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
10: My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
11: If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
12: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
13: We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
14: Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
15: My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
16: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
17: Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.
18: And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.
19: So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.
20: Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
21: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
22: How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
23: Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
24: Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
25: But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
26: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
27: When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28: Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
30: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
31: Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
32: For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
33: But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanks and praise to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Here is some history to share and as you can read Thanksgiving was meant to be kept holy giving thanks to God.

On December 4, 1619, a group of 38 English settlers arrived at Berkeley Hundred, comprised of about eight thousand acres (32 km²) on the north bank of the James River near Herring Creek in an area then known as Charles Cittie (sic) about 20 miles upstream from Jamestown, where the first permanent settlement of the Colony of Virginia was established on May 14, 1607.

The group's charter required that the day of arrival be observed yearly as a "day of thanksgiving" to God. On that first day, Captain John Woodleaf held the service of thanksgiving. As quoted from the section of the Charter of Berkeley Hundred specifying the thanksgiving service:

We ordaine that the day of our ships arrival at the place assigned for plantacon in the land of Virginia shall be yearly and perpetually keept holy as a day of thanksgiving to Almighty god." [1]
For the entire read go HERE.

Psalms Chapter 147
1: Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
2: The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
3: He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
4: He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
5: Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
6: The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
7: Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
8: Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
9: He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
10: He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
11: The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
12: Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
13: For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
14: He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.
15: He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
16: He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
17: He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
18: He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
19: He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
20: He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.

Psalms Chapter 72

Thanks and praise to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Psalms Chapter 72
1: Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.
2: He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.
3: The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
4: He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
5: They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.
6: He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.
7: In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.
8: He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
9: They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
10: The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
11: Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
12: For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
13: He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
14: He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
15: And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
16: There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
17: His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
18: Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
19: And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
20: The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

Romans Chapter 8
1: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2: For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3: For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5: For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6: For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7: Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8: So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9: But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10: And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11: But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12: Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13: For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15: For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16: The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18: For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19: For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20: For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21: Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22: For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23: And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24: For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25: But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27: And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29: For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30: Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31: What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32: He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33: Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34: Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36: As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37: Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38: For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39: Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
