I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

Don't Worry About Election

Thanks and praise to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To accept eternal life, to have everlasting life. Is this not what we want for ourselves, our children, and for others? By the grace of God we all can have this. Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." We hear a lot about only the elect will be His people. This is in the scripture. But only God knows who is His elect. This has for some time concerned me and also confused me at times. To the fact of how does one know if he is an elect of God. 2 Peter below will help to explain. As far as my belief that I have received from reading the word is that when you call upon the name of the Lord you will be saved. Only God knows His elect and I do not think that anyone has the right or knowledge to be able to judge someone concerning whether they are or not one of His elect. I believe that if someone is not one of the elect that God has hardened his heart so as they will not accept Christ as their Saviour. For those that call upon the name of the Lord and receive Christ as their Saviour I feel that it is a done deal. That person who repents of their sins, believes that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God that died on the cross for our sins and arose on the third day victorious over death. Removing the sting of death from us. That person is saved and is going to Heaven. Some pastors make a point of teaching election as if he where boasting about it and putting doubt in some that have been saved. But I say to you that doubt is of the devil and not of God. Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. I know that God is not a liar. God will see to it that only His elect will get to Him. Not a pastor that seems to be trying to put everything taught on election. This can be very confusing for some and actually turn some away. I think that the election is completely in Gods' hands and it is nothing for us to have to worry about. God will do what he says He will do. Do not worry whether you are one of the elect or not. If you have been saved and follow 2 Peter 1 below you are one of the elect. Do not spend your time spinning your wheels on this. Move on and study the Word of God and you will be fine.

John 6:47: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life."

2 Peter 1:1-11
1: Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3: According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5: And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6: And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7: And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8: For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9: But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10: Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
11: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:1-25
1: If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2: Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3: For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4: When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5: Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8: But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9: Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10: And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12: Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13: Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14: And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15: And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17: And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
18: Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
19: Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
20: Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
21: Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
22: Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
23: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24: Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25: But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
