Charity {Love} Never Fails
Thanks and praise to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
We are taught that we should abide, to wait patiently for God, in faith, hope, and charity. Charity, or love, is to be the greatest of the three.
We should live our lives showing the love that Christ has showed us by dieing on the cross for our sins. It is not beneficial for us to live otherwise.
Do not offend anyone. This is very hard to do sometimes. We must show love and compassion for one another. Do not spend time in idle gossip. This will only come back to bite you in the end. We must look to help others prosper rather than ourselves. This is beneficial to us also.
It is hard for us to understand exactly what a person in another country goes through to worship Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. I have read about a woman in China, Ms. Li Ying, who has been in prison for over 2000 days now serving a fifteen year sentence because she was the editor of an underground church magazine. Prison officials have tried to get her to recant her faith in Christ and sign a document stating that it was an evil cult. Still she remains faithful to Christ and refuses to do either.
To read more about Ms Ying and others like her go to__http://www.prisoneralert.com/
There you are able to write to her and others letters of encouragement in their own language. You can also write to the officials over them and ask for their release.
I wonder how many of us would go through such things as this and be as faithful to Christ as
Ms.Ying is?
Here in America we can worship who or what ever we believe without being locked up. Our country was founded on the one and only true God and He has blessed this country. But this country is in danger of falling out of grace with God with all the sin that is going on. We must continue to grow in Christ and spread His word of love and salvation to all who will hear it.
Take the time to write one of the prisoners above and show your love and support for them in their times of trial. I am sure that it would lift my spirits if I were to receive one if I was in there spot. Take time to pray for them also that God would protect them and through their strong showing of faith in Jesus Christ that others would come to Christ and be saved.
1 Corinthians 13:1-13
1: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2: And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3: And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4: Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5: Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6: Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7: Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8: Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9: For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10: But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11: When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12: For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13: And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
