I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

Charity and the gift of giving

One of the most self fulfilling things on this earth is that of giving to others in need. One does not need to be rich monetarilly to do this. It does not even have to be the gift of money itself. It could be a simple prayer to the Lord for others, a kind word about someone to others, a visit with someone who needs to be lifted up. The list could go on and on. Some things that may come from this is that someone that does not know Jesus may come to know Him, it could lead to someone getting a job, receiving a better job, and this list could continue also. But if we give to the ones who have the least God tells us that we also give to Him.

There is enough money in this world today that there should be not ONE person hungry or without a place to live. Everyone deserves this. But that is far from the case. It is nothing less than a sin against God to have the world in the shape it is in now. We all need to do our part in the helping of the least of us. If it is no more than a five dollar bill to someone that is hungry. But it does not need to stop there. Everyone must give continually to those in need. Some are storing up great treasures in there household and others are starving. This needs to change. If God has blessed you in the form of money it was not given to you for your profit alone. We must pass some of it on to others in need. God will bless you for doing so. Everything in the world belongs to God. And one day He will return to collect it. Will you or your family be one of those that has stored up great treasures and not passed any on? The only judge of this is God. He knows all. Take time this week to start a lifetime of giving. You will be blessed and your children will be blessed for it.

Matthew 6:1-4
Take heed that ye do not your
alms before men, to be seen of them:
otherwise ye have no reward of
your Father which is in heaven.

Therefore when thou doest
thine alms, do not sound a trumpet
before thee, as the hypocrites do in
the synagogues and in the streets, that
they may have glory of men. Verily I
say unto you, They have their reward.

But when thou doest alms, let
not thy left hand know what thy right
hand doeth.

That thine alms may be in secret:
and thy Father which seeth in secret
himself shall reward thee openly.
